Construction of Catechesis

Mixed media corner installation, 120 × 60 in per wall (L-shaped installation), 2025

Based on a still from Catechesis (2026).

This installation constructs a devotional corner that oscillates between discipline and refuge. Familiar images of the Crucifixion and the Virgin Mary are rendered in a palette reminiscent of propaganda imagery, reframing devotion as a site of persuasion and control. While the stained-glass and candle suggests a grasping toward institutional belonging. However, displaced from their original contexts, these icons assemble a new catechesis, one shaped by histories of violent indoctrination.
