Genesis
Oil on canvas, 8 × 10 in, 2025
Based on a still from One Year Later (2025).
This painting explores the origin of division through the lens of creation. In the beginning there was nothing. God created the first division, he saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. This fundamental human dichotomy implicitly identifies the sacred from the profane. This framework offers the basis for identity, classification, and consequently, exclusion, implying those cast out are inevitably abandoned.
