Grow Your Own Garden
Oil on canvas, 10 × 20 in, 2025
This work draws from Lilith as a reclaimed contemporary symbol of female resistance to patriarchal authority. Set in a self-cultivated vegetable garden, contrasted with God’s immaculate Eden, frames self-sufficiency as a mode of defiance against imposed power structures. While Eve and Lilith, who physically overpower Adam, smash fruit in his face, evoking the historical symbolism of thrown produce as public condemnation.
